Pioneer PDP50MXE1 50" Plasma Display
High Reliability and Durability
The Durability of the plasma is closely related to brightness management
. Pioneer has developed a method of influencing the lifetime of
a plasma. The linear brightness mode fixes a peak brightness regardless
of how big the bright area is, so brightness increases linearly
with the input signal increase. In normal circumstances when a dark
image is displayed, peak brightness will become higher to enhance
the contrast. This method slows down the decay of phosphor.
There are a number of other screen saver functions:
- Orbiter mode: Automatically changes the display position
- Full mask: Turns the entire screen into a single colour (RGB or
White) this can be operated with an off timer
- Inverse mode: Reverses the image.
- Still Picture Detection & Auto Dimmer
- Brightness difference detection and auto adjustment: This detects
pictures with minor movement by monitoring the cumulative average
brightness of 512 divided blocks and automatically activates the
dimmer
Flicker free
Pioneer has eliminated problems with flicker on displays, due to
100Hz progressive scanning. Flicker from PC signals will also disappear
even in lower refresh rates.
PC Compatibility
With a native resolution of 1280x768 these high precision panels can
accurately display personal computer signals ranging from: 640x400,640x480,(VGA)
to 1024x768,1280x768 (WXGA). The PDP-503MXE can support compressed displays
of 1280x1024 (SXGA) & 1600x1200 (UXGA)
